Chapter 15

I this chapter we leaned how Europe was continuing to spread as the same with christianity. We also learned how there was a new way of thinking starting to process known as the scientific revolution.  Things started to get heated between the roman catholic church an Martin Luther in this time. While they were beefin, Martin Luther exposed the Roman Catholic Church of being corrupt. So when everybody heard that the Roman Catholic Church was corrupt they were hella mad! Their anger towards the Roman Catholic Church led hella people to protestantism. Protestantism shot off and shot off quick! It started becoming so big and adapted to that they started breaking off protestant churches all over Europe. The roman catholic church wasn't feeling to hot about this, so this dilemma started was is known as the thirty years war. This "war" led to the reorganization of territories. So after this the roman chaotic church started building itself up again, So they (the roman catholic ...

Chapter 14 part 2

In this section of chapter 14, we learned about the Atlantic Slave trade Millions of beautiful Africans were stripped of everything they had because the Europeans needed someone to do their work for them. Europeans invaded Africa and snatched people from their families and treated them inhumane and harshly. When in the middle passage Africans died in large amount of numbers from terrible treatment, some of these beautiful souls decided to commit suicide because dying was better than living in captivity. But one of the wild things I learned in this chapter that had me shook was that African elites would sometimes trade salves to europeans in exchange for tobacco, gunpowder, and alcohol. I never really knew this, I thought for the most part that these African elites would be hella protective over their own people.  Documents- Voices From the Slave Trade: Also pieced with this reading of the second part of chapter 14 was the reading of an African mans journey to slaver...

Chapter 14 part 1

In this chapter we learned how the Europeans wanted in on the Indian Ocean Trade and how maneuvered their way into it. The Portuguese: The Portuguese made their way into the Indian ocean trade by technically practicing piracy. What the Portuguese did was find areas that they knew they could take over, take them over, and then start taxing merchants. The Portuguese, when looking for land to take over, went for land near the shore of the Indian Ocean, so that they would include themselves in the trade. The Spaniards:  Spain got into the Indian Ocean trade by stealing land. The spaniards stole land from the Philippines. They went into the Philippines when they didn't have a leader, and took over. Once in the Philippines, the spaniards imposed christianity onto all of the Philippine folks there. The spaniards claimed the large amounts of silver that the Philippines had as theirs and made their way into the Indian Ocean trade. While in control the Philippines, Chinese and Japane...

Chapter 13

In the chapter 13 reading, something that really caught my attention and that was interesting to me was how the success of the Indian Ocean trade provided little incentive for the Chinese, muslims, and Indians to go beyond their own waters. What this meant was the European voyagers had more opportunity to explore more land since these other groups more occupied with their successful trade. Another thing that caught my eye during the reading was reasons why the Europeans were successful when coming to America. Arguably the biggest reason why the Europeans were so successful in taking over the Americas was because of the illnesses and diseases they brought with them. These diseases were completely new to Native Americans because they did not have any of these diseases in America that the europeans were now immune to. These diseases killed off a he amount of native Americans. The europeans saw this as a good sign though, as a matter of fact they saw it as divine. Governor Bradford of Plym...
